Where to Buy Non Toxic Furniture?

In this article, I’ll tell you what are the best places to buy non-toxic furniture online. I’ve picked non-toxic furniture brands that use non-toxic finishes, glues, and adhesives.

We’ve included non toxic reclaimed wood furniture brands, such as Avocado as well as zero-VOC furniture manufacturers with the Greenguard GOLD certificate, such as Medley Home.

Greenguard GOLD certificate means a product is free from toxic chemicals and you can be sure that they will not off-gas releasing toxic substances into the air. Take a look at our list of chemical-free furniture brands:

Best Non-Toxic Furniture Brands:

Avocado Furniture

Avocado Furniture

Material: Reclaimed Douglas Fir Solid Woo...

Avocado Green is an organic mattress and bedding producer based in Los Angeles. They’ve recently introduced a beautiful collection of reclaimed wood bedroom furniture. Their eco-friendly furniture pieces include non-toxic bed frames and non-toxic dressers made from 100% reclaimed solid wood with a raw, zero-VOC finish.

Using reclaimed wood is not only an eco-friendly practice, it also makes every piece of furniture unique with its own texture and imperfections.

This wood also has a perk – it’s often old. Old, mature wood has had time to become very durable and hard. Younger wood, or new lumber, warps and bends much easier. That’s not what you want for your furniture.

They are members of the Sustainable Furnishings Council, so you can enjoy your new organic furniture knowing that you are contributing to a healthier, environmentally friendly lifestyle. Combine Avocado non-toxic bed frames with an organic mattress to create a chemical-free bedroom.

Conclusion

If you want to create a toxin-free home, it’s worth starting with nontoxic furniture as it’s one of the main pollutants of indoor air. The toxins found in conventional furniture, especially in flame retardant substances, stains, and glues, can damage your health, leading to various health conditions, including cancer.

Although nontoxic furniture can be more expensive and more difficult to find, it’s worth spending the extra money as it will help you cut the amount of harmful substances in your home and protect your family’s health. To create a toxin-free home, apart from furniture, you should consider getting organic mattress toppers, organic bedding, and non-toxic cleaning products.

  1. Love your existence. Looking for a ‘safe’ recliner. Been searching for 100% genuine leather but
few are swivel and most are only partially leather…the remainder is all chemical. Not to mention a full, descent leather recliner is $3;000 average or more..Any suggestions?

    1. Hi Dorie, I found a good selection of leather recliners at Online Amish Furniture, they let you choose the type of wood finish (choose oil rubbed finish to avoid toxic chemicals). I also found Chance Recliner, with a rubberwood structure. They all cost around $1500. I hope you’ll find the recliner you’re looking for!
